Rhyming Antics

Hey there, hi there, how do you do?
Who am I, you say? Why I'm Anna, that's who!
My blog is becoming very dull and very bland.
So I'll speak rhyme this time, contrary to demand.
Listen to these facts that I have to tell,
They are about me, you see, so listen well.
Among my favorite animals live the wolves and the birds.
My love for cartoons can't be explained with plain words.
The thing I value most is your laughter and smile.
So if you're ever feeling down, come and chat for a while.
Needless to say, I support gay rights.
Just let them be happy, no need for the fights.
My two older sisters are named Jenny and Kim,
My mom's name is Marcia and my dad's name is Jim.
There's one thing I love more than drawing and art.
And that, friend, is sleeping, a very big part.
Speaking of sleeping, I'm starting to yawn.
I cherish my sleep, so I'm outta here, gone.

Boredom

Have you ever thought really hard about boredom? Yeah, me neither. But let me tell you, boredom is one of the worst things ever. Believe it or not, I actually believe there are different types of boredom.

One type of boredom is the boredom you get when you are stuck somewhere with nothing to do. Imagine, you are in an empty room, with no iPod, computer, TV, video games, literally NOTHING to do. Not even a pencil to draw with or a book to read. What are you going to do? Well, you could always result to daydreaming. No matter where you are or how bored you are, you always have your imagination. You could simply think, create stories in your mind, come up with new ideas.

Another type of boredom is a very common form of boredom, and that's the kind of boredom you get at school. The kind of boredom you get when your history teacher is rambling on and on about China. However, there's hope! You have a pencil, don't you? Then the simple answer is doodling! Yes, doodling. Draw whatever you want, let your mind go wild. Of course, you still have your imagination, too. You could always still result to daydreaming. The only negative about doodling and daydreaming is that you have to be cautious, or the teacher might catch you dozing off.

The final type of boredom I'm going to talk about is the worst kind of boredom to me. It's when you have everything you need to not be bored, but you just don't feel like doing anything. Like, when you decide to watch TV but in a few minutes you don't want to watch TV anymore, so you decide to go on the internet. You browse the internet for perhaps an hour or so and before you know it you want to play video games. Then, you try to satisfy your boredom by playing video games but you end up getting bored again.

I was obviously bored while writing this, but next time you find yourself bored with nothing to do just take these tips in mind.

Legend of Korra Review

Last week, The Legend of Korra premiered. This show is the follow up series for the 2005 Nickolodeon show Avatar: The Last Airbender. Since Avatar: The Last Airbender is my all time favorite show, I thought I should give a review of the new show that premiered last week.
The new series takes place about 70 years after the end of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The story revolves around Korra, a hot-headed and rebellious teenager. Korra is what's known as the "Avatar". It's a bit hard to explain, and unless you've seen Avatar: The Last Airbender, you probably are really confused. If you really want to learn more about the show, then Google it. Anyways, throughout the series Korra deals with many obstacles and enemies while making friends along the way.
Honestly, at first I thought that The Legend of Korra would not turn out good, considering how usually sequels to anything don't turn out great, and animators these days aren't exactly at their peak. However, this was a completely different case. One of my favorite things about it was the animation. What really makes me happy is that the makers of this show didn't lower themselves and try to make their animation more flashy by using cool effects that technology today gives us. But instead, they stuck to the original way of animating, like they animated Avatar: The Last Airbender, but at the same time it seemed improved. For example, the way they animated water in this new series was different, and really looked good.
Avatar: The Last Airbender was a very popular show and I remember watching it as a kid. Another great things the producers did with this new show is they made it more suitable for teenagers. Although doing this is kind of risky because kids may not like it, it's still a good decision. It's a good decision because people who grew up with this show will watch it, and those views will make up for the lost views from children. The new series is a lot more mature, with more action and romance and other things teenagers like to see.
I can't wait for more episodes of The Legend of Korra, and even though it will only last a single season, I am really looking forward to it.
By the way, if you have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about, here are some videos just to get a feel of what these shows are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGnN1DBDxaw  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmMoxZ-E89w

Disney Movies

Disney movies back in the 80's and 90's were really inspirational. At least, to me they were. My favorite Disney movies include The Lion King, The Fox and the Hound, Mulan, and Oliver and Company. The thing I love most about animated Disney movies was the amount of effort put into the animation. People like me, being a total animation buff, are really into that. The fact that these movies were made at a time when technology was less developed makes it even more impressive. Nowadays, all you need to animate is moderate drawing skills, Photoshop, and Flash. You can really tell that they put a lot of hard work and effort into those movies, which is something that is rare today.  Another thing about Disney movies that I love is the lessons they teach.
My number one favorite Disney movie is The Lion King. It's always been my favorite. I love the songs, the art, everything. This movie not only teaches kids about the Circle of Life, but also that the past can hurt, but you can either run from it or learn it. My second favorite Disney movie is The Fox and the Hound. The art in this movie is so beautiful, and the animation is super smooth. It always made me cry as a little kid, however. The Fox and the Hound tells kids that you can make friends with anyone. I've learned well from that. The next movie is Mulan. My personal favorite part of this movie is the music. Mulan teaches kids that anybody can be a warrior, and anybody can fight for what's right. The final movie I'll be talking about is Oliver and Company. I've always admired the art in this movie, and it's actually influenced me a great deal. Oliver and Company teaches kids that kindness has no bounds.
Well, that's my blog post for today. Sorry, no gifs today. I'm feeling really lazy, so I don't wanna go on Photobucket and find one.

Boredom

Have you ever been bored out of your mind? Me too. Obviously I am right now. When I'm bored I tend to eat more because I'm fat hahaha.

I usually fill up my time with making stupid animations or drawings, or simply browsing the internet. Gotta love that facebook, oh yeah. I also play video games sometimes too. I just got The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Wii. Well, I didn't JUST get it. I got it in November.  Gotta love that Zelda. I still haven't beaten it yet, it has a pretty good storyline though, I gotta say.

 ....Yeah I'm gonna go now.

Thanksgiving

Even though it's been 2 days after Thanksgiving, I'm going to do a thanksgiving blog anyway.
Thanksgiving has to be one of the worst holidays for me in terms of health, first off. We start off the morning by watching the Thanksgiving parade while eating my mom's homemade Chex Mix, one of the most fattening things on the planet. After the parade ends we all watch the dog show together, which is one of my favorite parts. There's always that one dog nobody can take seriously. After that, we continue our TV-watching by watching "Miracle on 34th Street", a classic movie. Finally, that moment we've all been waiting for- the dinner. For some reason everyone always eats at like 3 in the afternoon on Thanksgiving, but that's fine with me. We have a wide array of turkey, deviled eggs, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, biscuits, and other food. Of course we never eat it all, so we have leftovers for like 2 months. It's all topped off with pumpkin pie later in the evening.
The day after thanksgiving is usually the day we put up our Christmas decorations. We actually just finished decorating our house. We all spend some time together putting up our random Christmas tree ornaments, consisting of things like reindeer, angel dogs, chalupas, baby ornaments, childhood crafts, and of course, the one and only Anna angel. I made it when i was just a little girl, and basically it's just a picture of my face glued to this plastic angel. It's pretty funny.
Okay, I think I've bored you all enough, so bye. :D

The Modern Times

 Time for another blog! FINALLY.
So, today we watched an old silent movie called "The Modern Times". Charlie Chaplin stars as the main character, a random, goofy guy with a suspicious-looking mustache. The movie shows how much trouble he gets in when looking for different jobs. After a while into the movie, we meet a poor girl and see a little into her life and how hard it is for her to make a living. These two characters clash in the middle of the movie and they continue the movie together. The main character continuously gets sent to jail for bogus reasons, and continues to look for new jobs. At one point in the movie, the main character(wish I knew his name, they never said it) gets a job as the night guard at a department store, and he takes this opportunity to provide his new girlfriend with all the things she needs. As soon as everyone leaves, he takes her to the food department and they eat. After that, they go upstairs to the toy department and have some fun. At the end of the night, he takes her to the bed department and gives her a nice place to sleep. At the end of the movie, the girl ends up getting a job as a dancing waitress, and she gets him a job as a singing waiter.

At first I was a little iffy about this movie, but as the 90 minutes went on I gradually started to like it. I found a lot of the situations that the main character was in to be hilarious. The fact that the movie mostly consisted of physical comedy instead of verbal surprised me at first. I didn't think I could get used to not hearing words in  a movie. Not only that, but Charlie Chaplin was one of the most inspirational people of movies. If you have ever seen "Whose Line is it Anyways?", you'll know that the people on that show participate in various improv games for the amusement of the audience. Charlie Chaplin was actually a big influence to this show, as the members of this show got a lot of their ideas and physical jokes from Charlie Chaplin.

I'm glad that I watched that movie, because I got to experience a type of film I had never experienced before. This movie also gave me a new appreciation to old-fashioned comedy and silent films like this.

Well, once again my blog post is over.
PEACE OUT
